- Links coming from poor quality, “spammy” sites
- Links coming from sites created purely for SEO link building (PBNs)
- Links coming from topically irrelevant sites
- Paid links
- Links with overly optimized anchor text
How it works:
Google Penguin’s objective is to down-rank sites whose links it deems manipulative. Since late 2016, Penguin has been part of Google’s Search engine core algorithm; unlike Panda, it works in real time.
How can we adjust:
Monitor your link profile’s growth and run regular audits with a backlink checker and SEO SpyGlass . Is best tool for this purpose.
You can check the penalty risk through SpyGlass Tool for Check penalty risks, go to the Linking Domains dashboard, select your links which you want to know about Penalty Risk , and click Update Penalty Risk tab available on Navigation Bar. When the Penalty Risk check is complete, and Check Column of Penalty Risk , and make sure to look into every link with a score over 50%.
