Social media offers many wonderful things: people to meet and much to learn. For a long time, I was a silent extra in this great universal theatre, where passionate people introduce us to literature, science, humour, art and music. There is room for everyone.
Creating content takes courage and consistency. I often wonder what social media would be like if everyone behaved as I did: mostly silent, occasionally leaving comments, likes or shares on content that caught my attention.
This work, often unpaid at first, is far from easy. There is doubt, fear of rejection and harsh criticism. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. I have no monopoly on truth, nor on human foolishness. Like those before me, I now want to share my modest experience.
I will surely make mistakes, by action or omission. As far as I can, I will remain open to criticism to improve and offer content meeting your expectations. I come as someone seeking to learn by sharing what I know, or think I know. This exceptional community will help me learn more.
Who am I? An ordinary person, perhaps like you, with a passion for computing that became my profession. Over more than a decade, I have focused mainly on Geographic Information Systems, GIS, and banking, including card payments and Mobile Money.
My educational and informative content will initially focus on these areas. You can suggest other subjects, which I will cover if they are within my reach.
